Health, environment and safety (HES)

The group consists of companies that affect the outer environment through noise and discharges/emissions. The group is licenced for its activities and the impact on the environment is not regarded as exceeding the discharge permissions. The group works continually to reduce discharges/emissions, waste to deposits and other negative environmental impact.

Residue from the production is waste managed and handled according to regulations, in addition to being recycled when applicable. The companies within the steel business area buy large quantities of scrap for remelting, and are thereby also prominent in the recycling industry.
