The forge is the first link in the production chain after the casting of the ingots. It is designed for forging long, heavy components and the maximum forging weight is 55 tonnes.
The raw material, that is the ingots from our own steelworks, is heated up to the correct forging temperature in gas-fired car furnaces. The furnace temperature cycle is controlled and monitored by microprocessors which are linked to the computer system in the forge. The normal forging temperature is around 1150 to 1250 degrees Celsius.
The forging press is hydraulically powered and exerts a maximum pressure of 4500 tons. The forging press is integrated with a 200 ton meter manipulator and a 120 ton crane.
Our high-tech control system allows us to forge components automatically to predefined dimensions.
Our forge also has equipment for flame cutting and grinding the forged products.
Maximum ingot weight: 73 tons
Maximum capacity: 65,000 tons per year
